The Department of Construction Project Management is a specialized academic department aimed at preparing scientific cadres capable of managing construction projects efficiently and professionally. Construction project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet its requirements, focusing on planning, scheduling, and executing projects within the specified budget, time, and quality. The department provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills for project planning and scheduling, emphasizing the development of professional, technical, and personal skills, and enhancing their abilities for self-learning, continuous development, and keeping up with technological advancements, through experiential learning and individual and group work. The department also supports scientific research and applied studies that contribute to transforming engineering concepts into practical applications, and seeks to build effective partnerships with academic institutions and entities related to the construction sector to exchange experiences and enhance the quality of education and training.

Mr. Mohammed Belkacem Al-Khatroushi

Head of the Department of Construction Project Management

The construction sector represents one of the fundamental pillars of urban and economic development, witnessing rapid evolution that requires cadres capable of managing construction projects based on scientific and methodological foundations that ensure quality, efficiency, and sustainability. The success of construction projects does not rely solely on design and execution, but is closely linked to the effectiveness of planning and managing resources, time, cost, and risks.

In light of this, the Department of Construction Project Management aims to prepare specialists who possess the scientific knowledge and professional skills necessary to manage construction projects at various stages, from preparing studies and planning, through execution and monitoring, to handover and operation, according to the best practices and modern engineering standards.

The department is keen to offer advanced academic programs that combine theoretical aspects with practical application, contributing to the development of analytical thinking, leadership, decision-making skills, and working within multidisciplinary teams, in line with the needs of the labor market and urban development requirements.

The department also pays attention to scientific research and enhancing partnerships with engineering institutions and the construction sector, contributing to the development of the educational process, improving the efficiency of academic outputs, and preparing graduates capable of effectively contributing to the implementation and management of construction projects with efficiency and responsibility.
